What kinda mods you planning?? I pull a Sears ST10 for about 3 years....Ran good and pulled good in light classes in heavy classes (up near 1000lbs) she was a little short in the wheel base(id like to had it longer like a regular suburban) but she did ok!!! I won the points at one club with it one year and moved to another club the next year and wooped all over the cubs their too!!!! some rear end mods will make her pull GREAT!!!!!! PS ive pulled almost all the suburbans built(from 8hp-19.9hp!!)

We used to buy gas pedals and would hook them back in the spot where the original throttle cable went....THat way the govenor still worked...And what kinda govenor mods you gonna do? Ive not found a problem with a Tecumseh HH or OH series engine govenor stock settings...BUT when you play with them is when Ive found the trouble, they either work or they dont or they over run the rpms......theirs a BIG difference in "stock" and "stock".....stock to one club is different than another and ive pulled at places where my stocks were in last place and others where they was winners...Stock is to broad of a term....

we use this pedal assembly...

...and run the cable to a throttle bracket that uses the stock governor. We have a stop set to limit the rpm's to 4000 (as per our class rules). This seems to work pretty well, and is pretty simple.

^^^ the pedal was a little 'sticky', not finished as well as it needed to be. We took a little die grinder and some emory cloth to it, works pretty well after a little polishing.

Yep!!! thats how we fixed it!!! till we traded them off...the new midwest super cub ones where 100% smoother operation so we traded off them mr gasket ones and bought new ones!!!! also if we kept them lubed with like grease they seemed to not bind as much....
